Collage – stage of things
Four artists are invited to Viirus to create a performance together.
They are strangers to each other. They come from different artistic backgrounds.
The artists collaborate, challenge and influence one another, trying to find new connections in this messy era.
One artist has a vision of a dentist room and the sumerian toothworm, one is inspired by the concept of bodies without organs and a practice called staying with, one is interested in how to perform pain and construct wounds, and one wants to work with the romantic era and head towards an invisible mountain.
Instead of compromising, they decide to collide and find ways to be present in each others’ work of art – it is fun, tragic and ridiculous at the same time. They call it a living collage. This is possibly the beginning of something unknown, a new era that is still to be discovered.
The invited artists are choreographer Jenni-Elina von Bagh (FIN), multidisciplinary artist Majula Drammeh (SE), visual and performance artist Nastja Säde Rönkkö (FIN), and theatre director Gosia Wdowik (PL).
Collage – stage of things is a multidisciplinary piece that challenges individualism, separation and ownership. It places collaboration, in all its messiness and potential, at the center of the stage.
