Inter-floral Mint Box
– To help understand the inter-floral communication
Inter-floral Mint Box is a crest of shimmering pastel shades. It is an experiential installation performance, and kind of a mint-coloured bud of an installation that the participants may enter. Its world is built of the connections of meanings of the mint green colour, communication of plants and the installation box.
‘Green Blindness’ refers to the mass culture of forgetting plantae. It is a phenomenon where the basis of our human existence become secondary backgrounds to our daily activities — T-shirt prints or weeds. Inter-floral Mint Box explores this phenomenon through the metaphor of mint green, openly ambivalently from the black theatre box. Mint green is the syntheticity of the plastic hell of pastel boxes, the final morning of the Menegazzia terebrata lichen, and the eternity the sea. Mint is nostalgic, melancholic, lovely and desirable.
What is the mint green colour and what kind of associations does it carry? What if I would be a green-fleshed cell cluster? How would I communicate, and with what? What kinds of meanings does the box carry?
The performance reaches out of its box towards forests and meadows by means of experiential performance.
Inter-floral Mint Box is a minded landscape, botanical exercise, black game, colour mediation, and optical illusion. The work sensitizes to shades of colours like a bee, searching for mint nectar.
The participants can move inside and around the Mint Box installation. They are a multi-sensorial experiencer of the performance. During the performance they’ll be listening, watching and imagining. Each participant can slip into mint green by wearing participatory clothing.
The performance is accessible to all and follows safer space policies. You may step aside or leave at any time during the performance.
